2010 OnTRA Member Centre Grant Program

We are pleased to report that we received applications from 42% of our Member Centres.  We are very excited to hear from so many of our centres.  We will be reporting on the successful recipients in the coming weeks.

OnTRA is pleased to announce our 2010 Grant Program. The grant fund supports a program of annual financial awards to member centres. 

All therapeutic riding establishments that are current members of OnTRA are invited to apply.  There is $25,000 being offered this year to Member Centres with no more than $5,000 going to any one centre.  These funds are to be directed to a capital project at your facility which includes (but is not necessarily limited to) purchase of tack, purchases of horses*, improvements to facilities, and helping to fund instructor training**.

*OnTRA is not in a position to purchase horses on behalf of our centres that are not charities. 

**Direct expenses that must be supported by receipts.

Application Requirements:

• Centres must be current 2010 OnTRA members in good standing with membership renewed prior to March 31, 2010.
• Centres must provide satisfactory proof of insurance (mandatory) and charitable status (if applicable).
• All centres are welcome to apply for the funds.  Centres who are not registered charities may face some restrictions in how the funds can be spent, but this will be addressed on an individual basis. 
• Centres must provide details on how their centre will take advantage of this funding opportunity.
• If the funding is to aid instructor training, the instructors must be current 2010 OnTRA members.
• Centres must provide an item for our newsletter with their application of approximately 250 words.  This can be a centre profile, a rider profile, or an article you have published in your own centre newsletter.  Please send photos to accompany your article.
• Centres successful in receiving a grant will also be required to submit an article by January 31, 2011 outlining how the centre used the grant funds, and how the funds benefited the centre.
• Funds are to be accepted in person at OnTRA’s AGM which will be held on Sunday October 24, 2010 in conjunction with the OEF Annual Conference.
