Matthew’s mother on his progress: "Matthew has always been a magnificent individual, although a touch stubborn. During his time at CARD, I have watched Matthew grow into a confident, self-assured individual who has initiated a real interest in horses and their care. Riding at CARD has helped Matthew strengthen his body and has improved his balance. This in turn has allowed Matthew to play hockey this year and to learn to ski. CARD is a positive factor in everything he does. All of a sudden, this child has found his self-confidence. He had found something to pique his interest and encourage his inner growth – something was more important to him than fear. Matthew had learned to ride. Once Matthew began talking to people outside his family about his new passion, he blossomed. He has confidence and will attempt things he never would have tried before.
